How to remove a shortcut from the add or remove program list in control panel ?

You might have come across certain annoying situations in which you won't be able to install certain software component because either the previously installed version of the same software component still lies in the system or else the software component was not successfully uninstalled from the computer. In such situations, the only way that you might find easy is to remove the shortcut from the add/remove program list in the control panel. The way to do that requires some sort of knowledge about the windows registry stuffs. If you are not that sort of a computer geek, its okay, take it easy and just follow the steps that I am trying to show off. Enjoy it.
First of all what you have to do is, open up the windows registry :
    ( Start ->Run->regedit).
And navigate to the required key through these series of steps :

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall. And ya you are in the right place to go forward with the modification of the required key. so, find out the key, usually a folder with the name similar to that of the software shortcut. You can clearly identify the key by looking into the 'Display Name' which is displayed at the right pane when you click on the key. Once you are done with the identification of the required key, just right click on it and click 'Delete'.
